About the Experience
Scotland’s single malts are shaped by landscape, climate, and craft. In this immersive workshop, participants explore how geography, production philosophy, and cask maturation define regional identity.
Through structured comparative tasting, guests move beyond labels and age statements to understand why whiskies taste the way they do — not simply what they taste like. Regional character, oak influence, and distillery style are introduced progressively, allowing both newcomers and experienced drinkers to refine their palate with clarity and confidence.
The atmosphere remains educational yet relaxed, encouraging observation, discussion, and personal discovery throughout the session.

Workshop Flow & Guided Tasting Format
(Flexible: 90 minutes – 2.5 hours depending on depth & discussion)
Overview of the Workshop (10–15 minutes)
The session opens with a focused orientation to Single Malt Scotch — what defines it, why region matters, and how maturation shapes identity.
Guests are introduced to the TasteIST tasting flow:
Observe · Breathe · Settle · Release · Trace
This framework provides structure while keeping the experience accessible to both newcomers and experienced drinkers.
Note: All whiskies are selected in advance and provided by the host.
Guided Regional Tasting Flight (60–90 minutes)
Participants explore a curated lineup of single malts representing the five Scotch whisky regions:
• Highland (including Islands)
• Speyside
• Islay
• Lowland
• CampbeltownThrough guided tasting, guests discover how production style, maturation choices, and environment shape regional character.
Contrast becomes the teacher — revealing how smoke differs from maritime salinity, how fruit evolves across climates, and how oak integrates differently depending on distillery style.
Regional Sensory Mapping (15–25 minutes)
Using a regional flavor card, participants map each whisky across key dimensions:
• Sweetness
• Fruit character
• Smoke intensity
• Oak influence
• Texture & finishPatterns begin to emerge, allowing each guest to identify which regional profile aligns most naturally with their palate.
Flavor Trace & Closing Reflection (10–20 minutes)
Each participant selects the expression that resonated most and completes a Flavor Trace:
• First contact
• Mid-palate development
• Finish & aftertasteThe session concludes with shared reflections and practical guidance on how to continue exploring single malts with clarity and intention.
